Some Advice and Information on purchasing a St Bernard Puppy.

We have over 10 years experience in importing and exporting St Bernards both as puppies and adults and this is necessary to widen our gene pool and bloodlines and now with the new Pet Passport scheme it has become so much easier.  This also opens up a wide door for potential puppy owners to search far a wide to find their perfect puppy. 

Here is some advice that I would offer if you are interested in purchasing a puppy a bit further afield.  Always go to a reputable breeder who can provide documentation of who they are and certificates of their wins and achievements they claim to have for example top breeder/top winning show kennel.  Be careful that the puppy will come with all the documentation and legal requirements required for traveling and entering your Country.  We are located in the North of Ireland (Northern Ireland) and therefore are apart of the UK and taking a dog from Northern Ireland to England/Scotland/Wales, is just the same as traveling with a dog to a near town we do not require pet passports or any other documents and can travel anytime after 8 weeks of age.  However if a puppy is bred and born from the South of Ireland then that is totally different and must be at least 3mths and 3 weeks of age before traveling to the UK and must be accompanied with a pet passport and have been vaccinated against rabies.  Please be careful this can be checked of the defra.gov.uk website.  Unfortunately there are many scammers and puppy farmers out there that will not only cheat you out of your money but will also chance breaking your heart with a puppy who has not been bred or raised correctly.
